My journey into UX is a unique one. I have an extensive background in film and a few years ago I wrote a pilot episode of a series titled Homeless With My Louie Bag, and I needed a logo. I searched the web for the perfect image but couldn't find one. So I started teaching myself graphic design. I am a creative, so I enjoyed learning how to make my own graphics, eventually I needed a website to showcase the pilot episode and that sparked the idea to learn how to code.
Thinking I couldn't afford it, I started the self taught way. I learned a few things but not enough; I started searching for the right bootcamps that could teach me what I needed to know. Fast forward to today where I'm a certified UX Engineer, on this journey I discovered that I could marry my passion for film and my new skill set into a career I love.
I never thought entertainment companies would need someone with my skills but most companies have an online presence and apps...duh. Here I was thinking that all the things I was passionate about took me in different directions only to find out I'm exactly where I'm supposed to be.
When I'm not on my computer writing and learning code, I'm on my tablet improving my drawing skills, in my kitchen trying a new vegan recipe or binging on the latest shows on the plethora of streaming apps (that I would like to work at someday.😉)
Look forward to chatting soon.
